AmaZulu will take on Moroka Swallows in the DStv Premiership on Tuesday evening at the King Zwelithini Stadium, as they seek to return to good league form. Kick-off is at 7.30 pm (CAT).
CURRENT FORM
Despite grabbing a positive result against Royal AM in the Nedbank Cup and advancing to the next round, AmaZulu’s league form is currently not the best as they’ve suffered two defeats in a row in the DStv Premiership at the hands of Cape Town Spurs and league leaders Mamelodi Sundowns respectively.
Usuthu are currently occupying 11th position on the log, just one point behind Golden Arrows.
As for Moroka Swallows, the team put up an impressive performance against Kaizer Chiefs in the league holding them to a draw. Swallows won their Nedbank Cup game against second-tier Platinum City Rovers and were beaten 1-0 by Polokwane City in the league prior to that fixture.
The mission for Swallows is clear as they are third from bottom in the league standings, but have a cushion of being seven points ahead of Richards Bay who have 13 points.
WHAT WAS SAID
Usuthu head coach Pablo Franco Martin was disappointed by the loss against Sundowns but maintains his team has been working hard and will have a better performance against Swallows.
Despite saying this, Franco Martin made it clear that he does underestimate the Dube Birds as they are on a decent run at the moment.
“We are not in the position of underestimating any opponent. Maybe we can think that they are weaker because they lost some key players but they still keep their structure and they are competitive,” said the tactician.
Swallows have currently been under the spotlight due to their ongoings off the pitch and the departure of coach Steve Komphela by mutual agreement. Striker
