Amorim denies Liverpool link-up rumours
Liverpool's hopes of luring Xabi Alonso back to Anfield were dashed with the Spaniard deciding to stay put at Bayer Leverkusen, who he has on course for a first ever Bundesliga title.
Sporting Lisbon coach Ruben Amorim is the new front-runner with the bookmakers ahead of Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi and Germany boss Julian Nagelsmann.
According to 'Sky Germany', the Portuguese coach had reportedly reached a three-year pre-agreement with the Reds to replace the iconic Jurgen Klopp. However, these rumours have been denied by Amorim at a press conference."
"There's been no interview with any club, no agreement with any club. This is the last time I'm going to talk about my future. The only thing we all want is to be champions with Sporting. Nothing will change," he told reporters.
