Arne Slot tipped for new Liverpool manager role after surprise Rubem Amorim 'talks'
Ruben Amorim is reportedly "unlikely" to be appointed as Liverpool's successor to Jurgen Klopp - with West Ham United now exploring a move for the Sporting CP coach.
Amorim had recently emerged as the favourite to succeed the German after he announced in January that he would be leaving Anfield at the end of the season after nine trophy-laden years.
According to The Athletic though, West Ham United have "held talks over an ambitious move to appoint Amorim", who has drastically transformed Sporting's fortunes since he was appointed manager in 2020. The 39-year-old is on course for a second league title success in four seasons with the Lisbon club.

It is claimed the Hammers are drawing up contingency plans in the event David Moyes leaves the club at the end of the season, with the Scot yet to sign an extension despite his current deal at the London Stadium expiring in June. The report also claims that Amorim is "unlikely" to be Liverpool's "preferred candidate" to replace Klopp at Anfield.
The former Benfica midfielder, who retired in 2017, has remained tight-lipped on his future in recent weeks and on Monday, sidestepped questions about a potential exit from the Jose Alvalade Stadium.
The 39-year-old is contracted until 2026 and is reported to have a release clause of €20million should any team wish to prise him away from Sporting.
On Monday afternoon, Feyenoord manager Arne Slot moved to 3/1 to succeed Klopp at Anfield.
