With Kylian Mbappé (25) informing Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi of his upcoming departure at the end of the season, PSG will likely dip into the market for a replacement.
The Independent revealed earlier this month that Napoli’s Victor Osimhen (25), who is expected to leave Italy at the end of the season, is one of the primary targets, although PSG could face competition from Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United. The Nigerian forward reportedly has a €110m release clause, which Les Parisiens could be tempted to activate in the wake of Mbappé’s departure announcement.
With PSG reportedly set to trust Bradley Barcola on the left wing going forward, reported targets such as AC Milan’s Rafael Leão now look less likely to make the move to the Parc des Princes at the end of the season. Different profiles, such as Osimhen, may be favoured.
David Ginola has advocated for Osimhen’s arrival in Paris. “He would be a good choice. He is a player that isn’t set up in the same way at all [compared to Mbappé]. He is more athletic, he has pace but less than Mbappé. He is the best Nigerian forward. With PSG looking for an Mbappé replacement, I think he could be the ideal solution,” he told Canal Plus Sport.
