Arsenal supporters may find themselves rushing to the cinema on Thursday, May 2 when Anne Hathaway's new film The Idea of You is released.
Just last month, this new rom-com release would not have passed the minds of many supporters, however recent clips of the Hollywood superstar may have changed priorities. After Leandro Trossard scored in the clash against Chelsea last week, Hathaway and her co-star Nicholas Galitzine went viral with their celebration.
Explaining her response, she told her interviewer: «Sorry, we’re both fans of the same team, and there’s a match going on right now, and during our last interview they scored.» Hathaway was then surprised by NBC and Gunners star Leandro Trossard, who sent her a personal message thanking her for her support and inviting the actor to the Emirates Stadium.
The message left Hathaway 'shaking' but it was not the first time she has mentioned the Gunners while promoting her film. Before the defeat to Aston Villa, the 41-year-old asked Galitzine: «Okay, next question. What formation should Arsenal be playing in?»
«Oh, thank you, Anne Hathaway! The people at Interview don’t know that we’re both diehard Arsenal fans,» he replied. "'I really believe we’re in a great place right now. Is this a genuine question? Because I will tell you."
"'I just thought this is a good chance to get Mikel Arteta’s attention," Hathaway admitted. Before this recent press tour for her film, the Princess Diaries star had not mentioned her love for Arsenal but had revealed her support of the sport.
