According to L’Équipe, Antoine Griezmann (32) is likely to withdraw from the France squad for the upcoming friendlies against Germany and Chile.
Griezmann, who has 127 caps for Les Bleus is undisplaceable in Didier Deschamps’ side, however, the Atletico Madrid forward may be absent from the upcoming camp. Griezmann is suffering from an ankle injury, which meant he was only fit enough to come off the bench against Barcelona at the weekend. However, the Frenchman is still not at 100%.
Despite this injury, Griezmann turned up at Clairefontaine on Monday morning. There, he will consult Les Bleus’ medical staff, as well as Deschamps, before a decision on his participation is made, but L’Équipe understands that a withdrawal from the squad is likely. There are also question marks surrounding the participation of Liverpool’s Ibrahima Konaté, who was called up for the two friendlies later this month, despite recently suffering an injury with his club.
