The summer of 2022 was a crucial one for Manchester United. Erik ten Hag was appointed as the club's new head coach after impressing with Ajax and a lot of money was spent.

Lisandro Martinez joined Ten Hag in switching Amsterdam for Manchester in a deal worth up to £57m with left-back Tyrell Malacia also moving from the Eredivisie for £14.7m. Serial Champions League winner Casemiro arrived from Real Madrid late in the window but it was the marquee arrival of Antony that turned heads.

The Brazilian cost United £86m - making him the club's most expensive arrival since Paul Pogba in 2016 - after proving his worth under Ten Hag at Ajax. After arriving from Sao Paulo, the forward scored 24 times and provided a further 22 assists for the Dutch giants over two seasons.
Antony signed a five-year contract with the Reds and was tipped to be a key figure in Ten Hag's project. However, the 24-year-old has struggled to adapt to English football and his price tag is constantly brought up whenever he fails to deliver.
In his debut season, the Brazilian scored eight goals and assisted just three. This year has continued to be a struggle, with him starting just 17 games in all competitions and managing only two FA Cup goals.
