Arsenal are closing on a deal to sign Brayden Clarke from Wolves, football.london understands. The 16-year-old would sign for the Gunners without a compensation fee being paid, representing quite the bargain for the club.
The highly regarded centre-half has made 10 appearances at Under-18s level this season for Wolves and currently features for Wales at Under-17s level. Arsenal see the player as a top talent and a mark of the ongoing ambitions to improve the roster of talent in their academy in the coming years.
Clarke had already posted to his social media feeds a goodbye message, although it was still unclear where he might move with at least four Premier League clubs interested in the starlet. Arsenal, however, it seems have won the race with hope of completion mounting.
«I want to thank everybody who has helped me along the journey and I wish all of my teammates at Wolves the best of luck for the future,» Clarke said. The young star will join a host of talented defenders at the club.

Reuell Walters has been called up to the senior squad several times by Mikel Arteta although has been out recently with an injury. In the meantime, both James Sweet and Ayden Heaven have made their first Premier League and Champions League squad inclusions.
Clarke plays predominantly at centre-half but has also featured at right-back. A trait of a defender that Arteta certainly likes with both Ben White and Jakub Kiwior starting initially in the middle before being utilised in wider roles.
