Arsenal have dropped a potential early team news hint ahead of their Champions League clash with Sevilla on Wednesday night. It comes as the Gunners can move within a step of qualification for the knockout rounds with a win, giving them some breathing room in their final few games.
It will be far from easy though, as the Spanish side showed just a few weeks ago as they made it an uncomfortable battle at their stadium. Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus managed to find the back of the net to power into an early two-goal lead, but Nemanja Gudelj pulled one back for the hosts.
Sevilla continued to push, but for them it wasn't to be as they fell to defeat, knowing they'd have to push for a victory in the reverse fixture to keep their Champions League hopes alive. It will be far from easy for either side in such a high stakes game, but Mikel Arteta has called for his side to be ruthless.
The manager told the press on Tuesday: «The more you have a chance in football to put it to bed, do it, we're gonna have to do a lot of things right tomorrow and then the right to win it against a really good team which enormous experience in this competition. We have to prove it tomorrow in front of our people how excited we are to play that game and what it means for us.»
There will be some huge decisions for the head coach to make in relation to his team selection and the players he names for the match amidst some injury concerns. One area to consider will be the backline and whether there is the chance to rotate the options available.
