Kai Havertz has found life at Arsenal difficult following his £65million move to the Emirates Stadium but it's clear he has the support of Mikel Arteta and the Gunners fans
Arsenal star Kai Havertz has been sent a wave of support from supporters after his difficult start to life at the Emirates Stadium. The Germany international has failed to register a single goal contribution in his opening four Premier League fixtures for the Gunners.
The Spaniard said: “I've said to Havertz: things are hard at the beginning. When I met my wife, at the beginning it was hard to conquer her. It was hard, I had to try and message her, and go, and go. At the end, when she says ‘yes, we can be together’. It’s beautiful."
Gunners legend Ian Wright discussed Havertz's miss against United and offered some advice of his own for the German forward. "He needs these kinds of things to happen for him," Wright told Premier League productions.
"He has obviously taken his eye off the ball. I am thinking 'this is what he needs (a goal)'. He needs to settle himself down.
"There is a lot of talk about him. It's a great touch. A great touch! But he has just slashed his foot at it. Instead of just watching it. Anything on target and you score.
"I think, at the moment, that's how it's going for him. It came off Anthony Martial's hand to get to him, so I can't complain about that. At the same time, it's the kind of chance you hope he takes so he can start to get himself going at Arsenal – I haven’t seen that for a long time. The Arsenal fans are still waiting for it to happen for him."
Whilst Declan Rice has shown a quick adjustment to life at Arsenal, Havertz continues to work hard in the background to ensure he can become a success story for the Gunners.
