The added bonus of Arsenal returning to the UEFA Champions League after a six-year absence is participation in this season's UEFA Youth League.
In line with the senior team, the Gunners' Under-19s will come up against PSV Eindhoven, RC Lens and Sevilla in the group phase and the fixtures were officially confirmed on Monday as the clash with the Dutch side is first up a week on Wednesday with kick-off slated for 1pm.
It should be noted that kick-off times are subject to change in order to comply with the UEFA principles or competition regulations, but below is the schedule as things currently stand:
13:00
RC Lens U19
13:00
Sevilla U19
13:00
Sevilla U19
13:00
RC Lens U19
13:00
PSV Eindhoven U19
Perhaps what is so intriguing about these fixtures is that it mirrors when Mikel Arteta's side will be in action. And with the home game, in particular, taking place at Boreham Wood's Meadow Park, it may set up a chance for some of the club's youngsters to pull double duty on the same day.
Now, Arsenal have already submitted their 25-man List A squad for the Champions League group stage matches but as per UEFA rules, they will also be able tosubmit their List B submissions by 11pm on the night preceding each match throughout the competition which, as a result, sees the squad boosted with Under-21 players.
Of course, one of the biggest inclusions on List A is Lino Sousa. Despite being born after January 1 2002, due to not being an Arsenal player long enough he couldn't be registered on List B just yet, but it's safe to say he will most likely be a regular for the Under-19s during the group phase.
