Arsenal given January transfer deadline to decide on two huge deals

Sol Campbell has urged Arsenal to fork out on Victor Osimhen to “change up” their attack in January.

Supporters and pundits alike have questioned whether the Gunners boast the firepower to launch a serious Premier League title bid. Gabriel Jesus is meant to be the club’s frontline striker but has scored just one top-flight goal all season, though he has been injured.

Eddie Nketiah has bagged five times but that pales in comparison to rivals Erling Haaland (13) and Mohamed Salah (10). Signing an elite striker could propel Arsenal to new heights and is viewed by many as the missing piece of the jigsaw.

Former defender Campbell, who was part of the Gunners’ last league win in 2004, named two strikers Mikel Arteta could target. Which one they go for would depend on how much cash is available to spend this winter.

«Osimhen,» Campbell told The Mirror when asked who Arsenal should sign, giving his old side a deadline of January. «But is he going to cost too much money? There's Ivan (Toney). I think they (Arsenal) are good (in other areas). Centre forward is one thing they might need to look at and see the possibilities, see what's out there, or wait until next season.

»In the end, they will have to decide by January: do they need a centre forward?" Campbell said. «Twenty to 25 goals in the Premier League in those big, tight games, will help them.
