Arsenal in triple injury boost as major team news hint drops ahead of Man City showdown

Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel have been pictured with the Arsenal squad ahead of Sunday's clash against Manchester City.

All three players are injury doubts going into the game against reigning Premier League champions City at the Etihad Stadium. Saka has a muscle injury, Martinelli a foot problem with Gabriel suffering from an Achilles injury

But all three players have been pictured on the Gunners' pre-match walk ahead of the fixture against City (4:30pm). It should be noted however that Saka was seen on the pre-match walk before the reverse fixture in October but did not play.

Speaking about the injured trio ahead of the game, Mikel Arteta said: «Yeah there's a chance [of them playing]. They haven't trained. [On Saturday] We have another session, so there's a chance they can be available.»

Arteta's team could move four points clear of City if they secure all three points in Manchester. To do so, though, they will need to win at the Etihad for the first time since December 2015.

When asked about Arsenal's belief going into the game, Arteta said: «Yeah we had some clashes, in the FA Cup as well and in the Community Shield. It's all great experiences. They have raised the bar in this league and football in general to levels that haven't been seen before.

»That's the beauty of this sport because it makes you better and challenges you more. You have to keep up with that pace and that’s what we’re trying to do."
