Arsenal were dealt a double blow following their defeat to Bayern Munich, as it meant that they also missed out on a place in next year's expanded Club World Cup.
Mikel Arteta's side were dumped out of the Champions League on Wednesday night, after Joshua Kimmich's header gave the German side a 3-2 lead on aggregate.
It was a crushing blow for the Gunners, who had initially lead in the first leg of the tie before the German side made a managed to find an equaliser.
The result now means that Arsenal will miss out on a place in next year's Club World Cup, with FC Salzburg set to take the final spot in the competition.
The revamped version of the tournament will feature 32 teams, with 12 representing UEFA and six from the CONMEBOL, its South American counterpart.
The AFC, CAF and CONCACAF will be represented by four clubs each, with the OFC and the host association awarded one slot each.

However, now, all four teams in the semi-finals have already qualified for the Club World Cup, meaning the place has been reallocated.
It then goes to the best-performing club in the Champions League over the past four years, who are not already in the competition.
A number of teams, such as Liverpool and Napoli, ranked ahead of Salzburg however, due to a two-club limit on teams from one country, the Austrain side take the place.
They made the Champions League round of 16 in 2022 and have been in the group stages of the competition across the last four years.
Chelsea, Real Madrid and Manchester City have qualified by virtue of winning the Champions League over the past three seasons.
