Arsenal are up and running in the transfer window and it's been a busy few weeks at the Emirates Stadium to say the least. The latest piece of business confirmed by the Gunners is a new contract for William Saliba, who extends his stay with the side for another four-years.
That comes after yesterday's announcement of Reiss Nelson extending his contract too, though it wasn't all smiles as Granit Xhaka was confirmed as a new Bayer Leverkusen player. After the addition of Kai Havertz, both Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber are expected to complete their medicals in the next few hours, completing a £200million spending spree.
There could still be exits lined up after the incomings, with the likes of Thomas Partey, Nicolas Pepe, Folarin Balogun, Kieran Tierney, Auston Trusty and Charlie Patino linked with moves away. With just under two months left in the window, there's plenty of twists and turns to come.
As reported by football.london earlier in the week, Arsenal have reached an agreement with Ajax to sign versatile defender Jurrien Timber for an initial €40million (£34.2million) fee that could rise to €45million (£38.5million) if certain add-ons are met.
After an announcement earlier today, the Dutch international could be handed a different shirt number than originally expected.
Arsenal star William Saliba has sent a message to everyone at Arsenal on social media after he signed a contract extension that will take his stay until 2027. Posting on Instagram, he said: "This club means such a lot to me, I want to thank the boss, Edu and the staff for extending my stay here. Gooners, we have always had a special relationship now it’s time to build on it."
