Arsenal receive boost to sign Premier League midfielder as rival club backs out
According to Spanish publication SPORT, Arsenal have received a boost in their pursuit of Everton midfielder Amadou Onana.
As per the report, Barcelona, the second possible bidder for the Belgian international, have given up on the deal.
Onana has long been appreciated by Arsenal. In the summer of 2022, they thought about signing him before he signed in a £33million move for Everton.
Everton’s Onana could shine at Arsenal
He has made 29 appearances this season with three goals, showing excellent performances for Sean Dyche’s team.
Because of his genius in the Everton midfield, Onana has gained a lot of fans. He may be viewed by Arsenal as the ideal replacement for Thomas Partey.

SPORT reports that the big boys in La Liga have given up on their interest in Everton’s midfield player due to the latter’s £52 million asking price.
Box-to-box midfielder Amadou Onana is a feisty player who prevails in duels. At the age of 22, he still has a lot of potential to grow and might be at his best at the Emirates Stadium.
