Mikel Arteta has targeted a return to the top of the Premier League following Arsenal's 3-1 win over Burnley on Saturday night. The Gunners leapfrogged their north London rivals to claim second place in the English top flight, with only four goals separating them from table-toppers Manchester City.
Pep Guardiola's side have one game in hand which will be played against Chelsea on Sunday afternoon. So, probably for the first time ever, Arsenal supporters will be secretly cheering on the Blues, who could really throw a cat among the pigeons this weekend.
Nevertheless, Arteta understands that the Gunners must improve if they want to call themselves champions of England. Following the north Londoners' win over Vincent Kompany's side, the Spaniard said: «I prefer to be at the top but this is what we have to do.
»We showed a lot of consistency both in the way we are playing and competing and in results so let's carry on, get some momentum now and get some players back and go again."
So, with that being said, football.london has taken a look at the Gunners' upcoming fixtures after the international break.
