Arsenal set new stance on Kieran Tierney transfer exit amid Newcastle and Celtic links
Arsenal are only set to letKieran Tierney leave this summer if they receive an «important bid» in the coming weeks of the window, per recent reports.
The Scotland international continues to be linked with a potential exit over the transfer window, following on from a change in role at the club. Tierney was often relied upon as a key starter within the team, with the left-back offering drive and attacking intent from left-back.
That all changed last summer though as Mikel Arteta reunited with Oleksandr Zinchenko, who joined from Manchester City. The Ukrainian international muscled his way into the full-back spot, but did so with a drastically different skillset to his Scottish counterpart.
Zinchenko often focused on inverting during the build-up phase of play which would allow for him to join the midfield unit and sustain pressure against the opposition. His passing ability would allow for this role to suit him perfectly. but it is completely different to how Tierney plays.
The 26-year-old had attempted to play there at times, but on the whole, he was largely reduced to minutes in cup competitions last season. It has led to links with a potential exit, with plenty of teams rumoured with interest, from Newcastle and Aston Villa to former side Celtic.

While that may be the case, the current stance from Arsenal appears to be leaning towards a stay at the club unless a huge offer is made. That's according to Fabrizio Romano, who delved into the current situation with the full-back in his column for CaughtOffside.
