Aaron Ramsdale has become a crucial player for Mikel Arteta at Arsenal since arriving at the Emirates Stadium in a £24million move from Sheffield United in 2021
Arsenal were questioned when they completed the £24million signing of Aaron Ramsdale from Sheffield United. The England international swiftly replaced Bernd Leno as the Gunners' No.1 goalkeeper and his performances last season were a huge reason why they were able to push Manchester City so close to the Premier League title.
Ramsdale has quickly become one of the north Londoners' most important players, with his ball-playing ability a key factor to his side's large improvements in the build-up phase over the last two seasons. Given his age and ability, there is no reason to doubt that the England international can establish himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League moving forward - matching the likes of Liverpool's Alisson and Manchester City shot-stopper Ederson.
Both Liverpool and City have shown that a team can achieve a lot of success with a world-class goalkeeper making the difference and Ramsdale do that for Arsenal ahead of their return to the Champions League next season. Following his development under Arteta, Ramsdale's value has soared and he is now considered to be the most valuable goalkeeper in Europe, according to CIES Football Observatory.
The 25-year-old has leapfrogged the likes of Paris Saint-Germain star Gianluigi Donnarumma, Alisson and Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa. Ramsdale is valued at €79million (£67.4m) - £3.4million more than Donnarumma (£64m). The more experience Ramsdale gains the better goalkeeper he will become - which could see him replace Jordan Pickford as England's No.1 goalkeeper and help Arsenal win trophies
