Hello and welcome to the ECHO's live coverage of Liverpool's FA Cup third round clash with Arsenal.
After making serene progress to the summit of the Premier League, into the semi-finals of the League Cup and the knockout stages of the Europa League, the Reds will be seeking to make another step forward towards a fourth potential trophy.
The 4-2 win over Newcastle United last time out was the perfect start to 2024 for Jurgen Klopp's side, the two-goal margin ultimately flattering the battered visitors. While the workload in the coming weeks is heavy, the manager has hinted a strong team will be picked today to ensure the current momentum is maintained.
Arsenal away is one of the most challenging draws available on paper to the Reds, although the Gunners have stalled somewhat since they earned a 1-1 draw at Anfield. Back-to-back defeats in the Premier League have put some pressure on Mikel Arteta, although they will still be dangerous on home soil.
Matches between these two sides rarely disappoint and while they will each arguably have bigger priorities in the coming months, expect no inches to be conceded this afternoon. Ian Doyle and Paul Gorst are in attendance to bring you the latest from the Emirates Stadium.
