Tottenham can take advantage of Arsenal's left side, former full-back Pascal Chimbonda has claimed. Spurs will be able to welcome back Pedro Porro when they host the Gunners in a crucial North London Derby on Sunday.
Porro was taken off in the last match for Ange Postecoglou's side against Newcastle two weeks ago but is ready to get straight back into action. With seven assists from right-back, and Arsenal chopping and changing their defensive options on the same side, there is a chance for Tottenham to get a breakthrough in the area.
«I think Arsenal are definitely at their weakest on their left-hand side,» Chimbonda explained, speaking at Ladbrokes Fanzone's North London Derby mural. "That's where we're capable of getting the better of them this weekend, for sure."
Chimbonda has seen his previous employers put up a much sterner test for their fierce rivals than he was able to as a player, and is now backing Postecoglou to make the most of any deficiencies in the Arsenal side. «That's where we're capable of getting the better of them this weekend, for sure,» he continued.
«I think that if we put pressure on the two centre-backs, they're also capable of making mistakes. Their midfield is really strong and they're so quick in attack, so, for me, it's about exploiting that weak area on the pitch for them, constantly applying pressure on Gabriel [Magalhaes] and William Saliba, and making the most of every set-piece opportunity.
»It's going to be a tough game because Arsenal will still be in the title race, but I think Spurs will go and win the game 2-1. Both teams are going to score because their strengths are both very much in attack, and there's so much at stake, so I'd expect goals this weekend.
