Arsenal starlet Chido Obi-Martin was at it once again as he scored four times inside 45 minutes against West Ham Under-18s on Saturday morning. The 16-year-old, already playing up the age groups, added more in the second half as well.
His sensational start to the game — which included a hat-trick inside 26 minutes with just 13 between his first and third goal — took his tally for the season up to 20 in just 14 Under-18 Premier League games with two assists as well.
Already this season he has scored four in a game for Denmark Under-16s in 69 minutes, a hat-trick against Southampton, and four more in 90 minutes against both Crystal Palace and Fulham. His last five games have now brought about 16 goals for the young Gunners.
Obi-Martin rose to mainstream prominence for an even greater achievement in November, though. He bagged ten in a huge 14-3 win over Liverpool's Under-16s. At the time he was still 15.
He has been rewarded for his form as well, training with Mikel Arteta's senior squad at times. As the next gem to come out of the Hale End academy, Obi-Martin is ready to follow in the footsteps on Bukayo Saka, Eddie Nketiah, and Emile Smith Rowe, as he pledges himself to the club moving forward.
“I would like to stay at Arsenal for a long time," he told Danish site bold.DK. «It's a good club, I can feel that I'm getting much better in training. There are a lot of good people and good coaches, so I'm really happy to be there.
