Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has urged his former club Barcelona to move to lure Jurgen Klopp to the Camp Nou after Xavi Hernandez's summer exit.
The Blaugrana head coach announced his impending departure just days after the German manager's shock decision to leave Liverpool after nine decorated years sent reverberations around the footballing world.
Xavi cited the 'cruel and unpleasant feeling' of being a Barcelona coach, and the belief that his time at the Catalan giants had reached 'a point of no return', stressing that his decision to leave at the end of the season would be final even if the club won the Champions League.
Barcelona currently sit third in LaLiga, but eight points off league leaders and historic rivals Real Madrid, and six off surprise package Girona in second.
Whilst early stirrings around Barcelona have seen former Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel linked with the top job in Catalonia, Aubameyang - who now features for Ligue 1 side Marseille - believes the job would be better suited for the departing Liverpool boss.
'Klopp gives you everything, energy, he has won great titles, he is a good coach,' Aubameyang said on journalist Gerard Romero's Twitch account. 'If there is a chance for Barca he is a good option.
'I was very comfortable with him in Dortmund. It would be incredible if could come.'
The Reds head coach - who is also set to leave at the end of the current campaign - would represent a tantalising option for the Barcelona hierarchy.
