The BBC were forced to issue and apology after a Manchester United Women's football swore live on air.
Man United forward Lucia Garcia made the mishap following their 2-1 victory at Aston Villa in the Women's Super League — a match which she scored in.
After securing a stoppage-time victory at Villa Park, the mood in the Red Devils camp was understandably jubilant — but Garcia was guilty of dropping the F-bomb in her post-match interview.
Player-of-the-match Garcia said into the microphone: «I'm so f****** tired.»
She then continued: «It was a tough, tough match, we fought and we must rest for Friday when we have a match so we need to be ready.»
Before BBC reporter Jo Currie asked her next question, she interjected: «Apologies for any slip of the language there.»
The cameras then cut back to presenter Alex Scott, Fara Williams and Ellen White laughing under their umbrellas pitchside.
Scott quipped: «First interview live on BBC and that happens.»
Villa wore their controversial 'wet look' kit during the clash and looked all set for three points when England star Rachel Daly put them ahead on 76 minutes.
However, Garcia's scrappy finish from close range following a corner levelled the scores three minutes later. Marc Skinner's side then won it through Rachel Williams' goal in the second minute of stoppage time.
There was a shock in the opening weekend of the 2023/24 WSL season with Liverpool claiming a 1-0 win at Arsenal in front of a record crowd.
Reigning champions Chelsea began their campaign with a 2-1 win over Tottenham, Lauren James among the goalscorers.
Meanwhile, there were also opening day wins for Brighton, Leicester and Manchester City, who got past Everton, Bristol City and West Ham respectively.
