Simon Jordan aimed a savage swipe at Football Focus on Friday.
The talkSPORT host was sat alongside Arsenal legend Martin Keown and couldn’t resist a cheeky dig at the regular BBC pundit following rumours the show could be axed.
Reports of Football Focus’ declining viewing figures emerged last month, leading to questions over its future on air.
It evenled to a public row between former anchor Dan Walker and current host Alex Scott on social media, with now-Channel 5 reporter Walker saying: “It’s hard to see Football Focus struggling.”
He also suggested the once-popular show is no longer relevant, which prompted a sarcastic response from ex-England Lioness Scott.
And now talkSPORT host Jordan has reopened the wound with this barb aimed at Keown on air.
As Friday’s show came to a close, host Jim White asked the Arsenal Invincible: “When do we see this weekend, on Football Focus?"
“I am on Football Focus and Final Score, Jim," replied the former centre-back. «I’ll be there.”
To which Simon replied under his breath: “Football Focus… with no viewers…”
The trouble-maker then followed it up with a sly grin from across the studio, with Keown left a little lost for words.
Both Football Focus and Final Score remain a regular part of the Saturday TV programming, but the Beeb have quietly shelved one of their football shows from the listings.
Match of the Day spin-off MOTDx has been axed after four years.
The show, aimed for Gen-Z audiences, launched in 2019 and was billed as a celebration of ‘football, music and culture from around the Premier League’.
It was hosted by Jermaine Jenas and featured football chat and interviews plus music, comedy and games, but has now been taken off air.
