We are now into the final two weeks of the 2023 summer transfer window and of course, it is set to be an extremely busy period for Chelsea.
A multitude of targets, price-tags, negotiations – it's all in a day's work at Stamford Bridge. So, with a fortnight remaining of the window, Chelsea supporters – it's safe to say – can expect much more of the same in the latter stages.
Harsht asked: "Hey Bobby – Do you have any insight into why the Lewis Hall situation transpired? It seems like he was going to sign a contract and then is about to be sold. What is the reasoning behind this?"
Bobby replied: "Yeah, there definitely seems to have been a u-turn from Chelsea in this situation. From what I know it's to do with Chelsea spending over £100m on Moises Caicedo, £60m-odd on Romeo Lavia and £35m on Michael Olise.
"The club now want to get whatever they can for players they do not deem as 'crucial first-team players'. Unfortunately for Lewis Hall, he is not deemed as that at the moment. He is also open to moving to continue his development with more regular minutes."
Mouhchrif asked: "Was it Lewis Hall who wanted to leave, or was it the club who wanted to sell to avoid financial fair play problems?"
Bobby replied: "The player wants to leave. I'm told he was a Newcastle fan growing up, so that always has some influence.
"He feels he can continue his development – more first-team minutes etc – elsewhere. But the FFP situation of course comes into it with the club perhaps spending more than they would have initially envisaged on Moises Caicedo, plus the
