Bournemouth in talks with Napoli over deal for Hamed Traore
Bournemouth are in talks with Napoli over midfielder Hamed Traore.
The Cherries are willing to let the 23-year-old join the Italian side on loan until the end of the season, with an option to buy for £22million in the summer.
Napoli view Traore as an ideal replacement for Elijf Elmas, who joined German side RB Leipzig for around £25m earlier this month.
Traore, who joined for £21m last year after an initial loan spell, has struggled for game-time under Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola.
The Ivorian has featured six times this season.
The 23-year-old has recently been unavailable for selection with illness.
It has since been confirmed Traore contracted malaria, spent some time in hospital to recover and has been undergoing further medical checks.
That illness will also see the Ivory Coast star miss the Africa Cup of Nations in his homeland this month.
A return to Serie A would make sense for Traore, whose performances with Sassuolo earned him the move to the Premier League.
AC Milan and Roma have also been linked with Traore.
