Bruno Fernandes has insisted Manchester United need a perfect 10 to save their season.
Fernandes believes they will have to win all their remaining Premier League games to pip either Tottenham or Aston Villa to get into the Champions League places. United have reached another FA Cup semi final after their incredible quarter final win over bitter rivals Liverpool.
But Fernandes says they have to forget about the FA Cup for now and focus on reaching the Champions League which may be the biggest factor in deciding Erik ten Hag’s future at Old Trafford. United midfielder Fernandes said: “We’ve talked about turnarounds but have never done the next step.
“But I think we have to understand the FA Cup is a thing and the Premier League is another one. In the league now, we have ten matches to go and we don’t depend on ourselves, but as we saw, Tottenham losing points to Fulham, today Villa losing points to West Ham.
“Tottenham is now level with us in games, still one game to play I think against Chelsea. Villa have a game ahead of us, so we can get closer. But as I said, I want us to look at ourselves because if we don’t win games, there is no point.
“They can lose, but if we don’t win our games, the gap is there, so we know from our side we need to win every game and approach each game for the three points. Then, at the end of the season, it counts.”
“But our main goal is to not lose points to Brentford away, so when we get back, we need to put our effort into winning that game. Not on dropping any points but winning that game. We need to win every game we have ahead to have belief we can get into those spots.”
