Calderglen High School youth football team have been awarded £500

Youth footballers from Calderglen were given £500 to help them purchase fresh equipment.

Kids from Calderglen High School were given a generous donation thanks to the council’s community wish list, and Karing International gave the funding.

The after-school club is run to provide an opportunity to play football free of charge to young people.

The parent council appealed for funding through the Wish List, and the cash will ensure the team has new football kits and equipment.

Ian Bell, from Calderglen High School Parent Council, said: “The £500 donation has new football kits and jackets to be purchased for our boys in the u16s’ team.

“The whole team were very excited and grateful to Karing international for this kind donation – now they can get out there and play matches.”

Karing International supplies South Lanarkshire Council with hot and cold drink machines, and the organisation were eager to help the young players.
