It might not have been Chelsea's first-team, but that didn't stop National League side Aldershot Town basking in a 3-1 pre-season win over the Premier League club.
The Blues fielded a little-known XI on their travels to fifth-tier side Aldershot and lost 3-1, with the Shots quick to rub it in.
Now under Mauricio Pochettino, Chelsea will be gunning for a return to the top of English football after a dismal campaign.
Despite spending around £600million on new signings last season, they finished 12th in the Premier League.
It was their worst finish for nearly 30 years in the top flight as they claimed just 44 points from their 38 games.
With Chelsea's pre-season tour of the States now well under way, the Blues gave crucial minutes to their youngsters at home during a friendly against Aldershot.
The National League side came out on top and after the game tweeted: «A comfortable victory against mid-table Premier League opposition.»
Chelsea did in fact take the lead thanks to academy star Ronnie Stutter's opener after just two minutes.
However Kwame Thomas, Lorent Tolaj and Jack Barham all netted to hand Aldershot a surprise victory.
Although Blues fans may be blushing, they will certainly be pleased with how the senior side have fared in their pre-season so far.
Chelsea have won both of their opening summer fixtures as they beat Wrexham and Brighton 5-0 and 4-3 respectively.
Christopher Nkunku netted in both of his opening outings, with fellow new attacker Nicolas Jackson also scoring for the Blues.
Their clash against Brighton, in which Mykhailo Mudryk finally got off the mark, was their first in the Premier League Summer Series.
