Chelsea given Kane transfer guarantee as Bayern usher Spurs into £86m decision

Harry Kane faces an increasingly uncertain future at Tottenham with his contract set to expire in 12-months

Chelsea have been dealt a major blow to their hopes of signing Harry Kane. The 29-year-old striker continues to be heavily linked with an exit from Tottenham this summer, with his contract set to expire at the end of next season.

However, if the £85.7million-rated striker chooses to see out his contract with the Lilywhites then, not only will he be free to leave, he'll be free to choose his next club. With Chelsea and United lurking in the shadows, Tottenham may be left no choice but to accept the Bundesliga champions' terms.

Despite the prospect of Spurs' arch-rivals signing their all-time top goalscorer, Danny Rose has guaranteed that a transfer to Stamford Bridge is 'never going to happen'. Speaking on talkSPORT, the former Tottenham left-back said: "Tottenham to Chelsea is just never going to happen, so after that, you have to look abroad and if I’m Harry, yeah I don’t think Bayern is a bad one.

"If you said Bayern, I wouldn’t have put them as my top three teams. But as I said, Harry going anywhere in England, it’s going to be really, really difficult."

Rose added: "Definitely I can’t see the Chelsea one because the two clubs don’t do business historically, and I don’t know if Harry’s legacy at Spurs would get a bit tarnished.

"I know the fans definitely know if he was to leave you could never, ever blame him, but try not to go to Chelsea with all respect. Tottenham to [Manchester] United, it’s only been [Dimitar] Berbatov from my time at Spurs."
