Chelsea half-time player ratings vs Newcastle as Nicolas Jackson continues to shine
Chelsea came away drawing 1-1 versus Newcastle United following the first 45 minutes of the Premier League Summer Series clash thanks to Nicolas Jackson's strike.
Kepa Arrizabalga - Fairly untroubled in the opening half. Produced a good save from Alex Murphy late in the half. 6.
Reece James - Had a few rusty moments in his first match for more than three months but provided a solid presence down the right and looked to stretch the play. 6 .
Trevoh Chalobah - The academy product had a couple of misreads early in the game but settled and had some crucial defensive interventions inside the area. 6 .
Bashir Humphreys - Continued an impressive pre-season with another solid outing alongside Chalobah in the opening half against Newcastle. 6 .
Marc Cucurella - A decent display from the Spanish full-back, with solid defending if limited attacking play in combination with Mykhailo Mudryk. Caught out for Miguel Almiron's equaliser. 6 .
Cesare Casadei - The Italian youngster was once again in a deeper role and showed some good defensive qualities. Unafraid to challenge for the ball. 6 .
Enzo Fernandez - The World Cup winner's first start of the summer and he immediately showed his quarter-backing qualities. 6 .
Mykhailo Mudryk - The Ukraine international didn't quite have the impact he delivered against Brighton but was restrained and disciplined in his decision-making. 6 .
Christopher Nkunku - A deeper role for the Frenchman after his goalscoring exploits in his first two appearances for Chelsea, and one he struggled to find regular involvments but still produced some tidy touches and drew fouls. 6 .
