Chelsea earned a hard-fought 1-0 win over Fulham at Stamford Bridge after they had to withstand some late pressure. Cole Palmer once again proved the difference for the Blues who moved into eighth position at full time of the Premier League clash.
It was an improved outing from Chelsea against their local rivals but not always the most convincing. The Blues dominated possession and were fairly solid at the back but would become more stagnant around the opposition area.
Palmer, who had been well guarded by the Cottagers, found a moment of space at the end of the first half to send a disguised pass through to Raheem Sterling in the opposition area. Sterling jinked towards his left to be fouled by Issa Diop and Palmer once again showed his quality from 12 yards out to hand Chelsea the lead.
The second period saw some nervy moments for the west London side but they were able to withstand late pressure to secure three points. football.london rates the performances below:
Djordje Petrovic — The young goalkeeper once again proved himself capable of producing solid saves as he utilised good reflexes to deny Harry Wilson. Produced a strong save in the second period as Raul Jimenez looked to take advantage of Enzo Fernandez's slip. 7.
Malo Gusto — Solid on the right side once again. Combined well with Palmer in advanced positions though his delivery wasn't always up to the standards he has made for himself. 6.
