"I'm fine and I can be better, I know that"

Brazilian Rodrygo Goes broke a five-match scoreless streak on Saturday by scoring in a crushing win over title rivals Girona, although he felt no pressure for not scoring and stressed that his coach, Carlo Ancelotti, "never talks" to him about scoring, as he "has confidence" in the striker's level of play.

"The coach never talks to me about the goal, he has confidence in me, as I have confidence in him. Sometimes moments happen that we don't want and I want to thank him for always supporting me," he commented in the mixed zone.

"We always talk about other things. We don't put pressure on goals and assists; we know that it's going to come naturally. Of course, going games without scoring bothers me, but I'm calm. I can do better, I know that. I want to keep training and keep improving," he added.

Rodrygo who explained his half-time chat with Ancelotti. "He told me that I was working well defensively, and then later that I was bad and that he was going to take me off, but I scored a goal and that's it," he said.

The Brazilian labelled the win against Girona as "key" as it was a "slightly more important" game as they hosted the second-placed side in La Liga, who are now five points adrift.

Finally, the former Santos man also highlighted Madrid's defensive level, with Tchouameni and Carvajal playing as centre-backs due to injuries. "We have a lot of confidence in everyone. There are many versatile players who can play as centre-backs; Tchouameni and Carvajal showed that. It's a different position, but they can do it very well. We didn't concede a goal and it was a perfect game.
