Manchester City star Cole Palmer has emerged as a target for Chelsea as Mauricio Pochettino searches for a new attacker to add to his squad
Chelsea have added Manchester City talent Cole Palmer to their list of targets as Mauricio Pochettino looks to add a versatile forward to his squad before the transfer window closes. The Blues have been linked with a number of attackers including Jadon Sancho, Ansu Fati, Joao Felix and Emile Smith Rowe over the last week.
Chelsea want someone who fits the right profile, someone with a strong personality who will buy into the club's ideology. Bradley Barcola from Lyon remains of interest to the club but things have gone pretty quiet on that front.
Rayan Cherki has been looked at and while Chelsea sounded out his representatives earlier in the summer, no contact has been made with Lyon over the signing. Brennan Johnson was also on that list but Chelsea have recently cooled their interest in the Wales international with Nottingham Forest demanding around £50million, football.london understands.
Now, Fabrizio Romano has revealed that the Blues are considering a move for Palmer and expect talks to take place to understand City's position on the youngster's future. Romano said: "Chelsea add Cole Palmer to list of talented offensive players being considered for final addition!
"Chelsea are set to open talks soon as they see Palmer as best solution. It remains to be seen Man City position on Palmer but Chelsea really want him."
Palmer's current deal at the Etihad Stadium runs until 2026 and is valued at €30million (£25.8m) according to CIES Football Observatory. City have signed Jeremy Doku to replace Riyad Mahrez in Pep Guardiola's squad which could see the 21-year-old's minutes limited despite
