Chelsea have been keeping a close eye on striker target Viktor Gyokeres according to reports from Portugal, with club scouts in attendance for Sweden's heavy 5-2 loss to Portugal on Thursday night.
Gyokeres has shot to prominence since singing for Sporting Club de Portugal from Coventry City, and is thought to be a name high up on the lists of a number of European clubs.
Chelsea are believed to be one of those, with London rivals Arsenal also thought to be monitoring the Swedish international's progress with interest.
The Blues need for a No 9 has becoming a consistent concern throughout the season with Nicolas Jackson's finishing wayward at time since his arrival last summer from Villarreal.
Though Jon Dahl Tomasson's side left Portugal with their tails between their legs, Gyokeres at least gave the scouts reportedly in attendance something to take back to west London.
With his side already 4-0 down, Gyokeres netted to restore a bit of pride to his side's performance, although he was withdrawn 10 minutes later, the game ending 5-2.
It is not the first time that Blues scouts have been in attendance to take in a Gyokeres performance this term, as the summer transfer window rapidly approaches.
According to reports, this was the third time Gyokeres has had admirers from west London in the crowd, and there's plenty of reasons why he has garnered so much praise - 36 of them in fact.
In all competitions, that's how many goals Gyokeres has scored since joining Sporting after narrowly missing out on promotion to the Premier League with Coventry at the end of 2022-23.
Blues scouts were in the ground on December 18 for a clash with historic rivals Porto, before making the trip back again at the end of February for the Portuguese Cup
