Chelsea transfer news as AC Milan already receive the 'Christian Pulisic' ripple effect having completed his move to Italy earlier in the window
Christian Pulisic has acclimatised well to life in Italy with AC Milan after completing his £15million ($19.4million) move from Chelsea at the end of June.
The former Blues star joined Ruben Loftus-Cheek in the capital, ending his four tough years at Stamford Bridge. Pulisic signed as a 20-year-old destined for great things in Europe, costing the club £58million ($74million).
"The main reason that prompted me to come here is to be able to restart and reach the top level," he said. "I haven't been able to express myself at my best in recent seasons at Chelsea, but now I've moved on and I want to get back to my level."
According to journalist Joe Pompliano, Pulisic is already making a positive difference for Milan financially. The club received 46 million impressions and 17 million video views on their social media posts relating to Pulisic's arrival.
In terms of finances and merchandise, AC Milan's team store sales have rocketed a whopping 266% in sales overnight. In fact, 'Captain America's' influence is so huge that the club's US customer base - usually around 9% of their overall sales - increased to 43% 23 hours after his move from Chelsea, with 90% of all customised Pulisic jerseys being sold by customers in the United States.
AC Milan are the eighth biggest club in the USA, according to YouGov Football Index - bigger than PSG, Atletico Madrid and Juventus - having moved up a couple of places in the last year since RedBird Capital took over. Pulisic's move to the club could be the major difference needed to see them rise to become one of the biggest teams Stateside.
