Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer insisted that he would want a 'f****** game' if he was playing for Manchester City despite Pep Guardiola's complaints regarding fixture congestion.
After watching his side beat Chelsea 1-0 at Wembley Stadium, Guardiola told BBC Sport: "It is unacceptable. It is really unacceptable.
"Coventry [and] Man United and Chelsea don't play in the week and let us play today. Next week on Friday would be better, instead of Saturday put it [the match] on Friday for recovery.

"It is for the health of the players. It is not normal. Honestly, it is not normal. It is not possible. It is unacceptable to go 120 minutes. All of you are football players. The emotion too, Madrid, the way we lose.
"I know in this country this is special for many things, but it is for the health of the players. I don’t understand how we survived today."
Shearer did not agree with Guardiola during the broadcast and went further on this week's first instalment of The Rest is Football podcast. "You know my stance on players playing too much football, I had to come with a question and there was two in my head," he explained.
"Why didn’t you use more of the players in your squad? You changed four, should've changed more or should I change tact and say Arsenal played Bayern Munich away on Wednesday and they’re about to play Wolves, Liverpool played Atalanta on Thursday and they only had three days' break before they play again against Fulham.
