A Premier League club wants to give the former Real Madrid player a chance
The Hammers manager believes the Belgian still has the ability to compete at the highest level
Eden Hazard announced his premature retirement a few days ago after concluding that his physical condition did not allow him to remain active once he parted ways with Real Madrid.
Hazard had an excellent time at Chelsea between 2012 and 2019, but then a disastrous spell at Real Madrid, playing just 76 games in four seasons and scoring seven goals.
But just days after announcing on social media that he was stepping down as a player, he received an offer from a Premier League club to try out. The proposal came from Kevin Nolan, West Ham manager, who invited the Belgian player to make a 180-degree turn on his decision in statements: "There would be Chelsea's Hazard at West Ham. I'm sure if I wanted to come and try it, I mean, I'd certainly be willing. I'd like to judge him."
The Hammers manager believes that Eden Hazard still has the ability to compete at the highest level and would love to test him at West Ham, where he believes he could be reunited.
The former Bolton man believes Hazard will be tempted to come out of retirement at some point in the coming months, given that he won't even turn 33 until January: "It's sad that at the age of 32 he has decided to retire in all honesty because I think someone of his calibre could play at the highest level for many more years. I wouldn't be surprised if the next six months to a year see a small reversal in this situation. I think at 32 he resents having retired. There have been so many times that I remember when Scholes did it. Then he got a phone call from Ferguson and said,
