Thankfully, there's been a bright spark throughout Manchester United's disappointing season.
That bright spark is Kobbie Mainoo. The youngster has been a breath of fresh air and has established himself in the first-team, despite only recently turning 19 years old.
Mainoo had long been the academy's best-kept secret but announced himself to the world in November when making a special full Premier League debut at Goodison Park.
The midfielder strolled around as if there were 300 senior appearances to his name and he's often been the most composed player on the pitch since becoming a regular starter, which is a testament to Mainoo's quality and an equal slight on his more experienced teammates.

At the beginning of March, the Manchester Evening News revealed United had opened talks to extend Mainoo's contract in recognition of his growing importance.
Just a few weeks later, Mainoo received his first call-up to the England squad and made his international debut against Brazil, which was followed by a start against Belgium. Mainoo looked remarkably comfortable playing for England and many felt his performances had earned him a place in the squad for this summer's European Championship.
"His attributes are there for everybody to see, that ability to receive under pressure and ride challenges, to manipulate the ball in tight areas," Southgate said about Mainoo.
"He gives us a different profile of midfield player to anything else we’ve got and we’re pleased with what he’s done. He's adapted and adjusted brilliantly and you can’t believe his age really."
