Chris Sutton has insisted that Jurgen Klopp was right to criticise the atmosphere at Anfield.
The Reds hosted their biggest crowd for more than 60 years against Manchester United last weekend. The expanded Anfield Road Stand was used on a matchday for the first time against the club’s old rivals, with plenty of fanfare surrounding the new-look stadium in the build-up to the game.
Despite the increased attendance, there were questions asked about the noise generated from the Anfield crowd during their 0-0 draw. The same issues appeared to remain on Wednesday night as the Reds cruised through to the Carabao Cup semi-finals with a 5-1 win over West Ham.
In his post-match interview, Liverpool manager Klopp stated he was “not overly happy with the atmosphere” and called for an improvement ahead of Liverpool’s top of the table clash with Arsenal on Saturday. Klopp’s comments may have divided opinion but pundit Chris Sutton believes the manager was right to share his thoughts with Liverpool fans.

“Jurgen Klopp is quite right to moan about the crowd if that's the way he feels,” Sutton told the It’s All Kicking Off podcast . “I think we're in an age where there are a lot of football fans who attend these games, the corporate mob, who maybe feel a little bit entitled and expect too much.
“In fairness to Jurgen Klopp, he would be the best judge and would have understood and known the crowd and also realised the impact of his words, which it should have on the crowd.
