West Ham continued their excellent start to pre-season with a 3-2 win over rivals Tottenham Hotspur in Perth.
The Hammers scored ten goals in their first two friendlies against Boreham Wood and Perth Glory and brought that goalscoring mood into this clash against Spurs, racing into a 2-0 lead before winning it late on after Ange Postecoglou's side had brought the game even with 20 minutes left.
Lukasz Fabianski, who captained the Irons to their victory against Perth Glory at the weekend, started in goal behind a back four of Levi Laing, Kurt Zouma, Angelo Ogbonna and Emerson, who scored West Ham’s fourth goal in the Perth win.
In the middle, 19-year-old Freddie Potts started alongside Flynn Downes in the centre, with Jarrod Bowen on the right and Pablo Fornals on the left. Academy striker Divin Mubama’s partnered with the experienced Danny Ings in the attack.
Postecoglou, managing Tottenham for the first time following his appointment as their new manager, named a strong Spurs side that featured new signings James Maddison and Manor Solomon as well as Harry Kane and Dejan Kulusevski.
It was David Moyes' Hammers that started on the front foot though as Ings powered a header past Guglielmo Vicario following a cross from Bowen on the right side on 18 minutes.
The second arrived five minutes later but from the left side, with Emerson delivering into the box following a short corner and watching as Mubama glanced it expertly into the net for 2-0.
