Former Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea appeared to wish Matej Kovar all the very best for the future after the latter sealed his move to Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday.
The shot-stopper, 23, has joined the Bundesliga club in a deal understood to be worth just short of £8million. He has put pen to paper on a four-year-deal in Germany.
Kovar, who spent last season in his homeland, spending the campaign on loan at Sparta Prague, never made a competitive appearance for United at first-team level during his five-year stay at Old Trafford. He joined the Reds in January 2018 as a 17-year-old.
He was sent out on loan on three separate occasions, spending time at both Swindon Town and Burton Albion before joining Sparta Prague last September, where he helped them win the Czech First League. He made 32 appearances for the Czech outfit, keeping 11 clean sheets.

His performances in pre-season for United last month offered encouragement that he has a bright future ahead of himself, though that will not be at Old Trafford. His distribution was particularly impressive during the 1-0 win over Lyon in Edinburgh.
Kovar's switch to Leverkusen should present him with a realistic opportunity of securing regular first-team football and putting down some roots. He took to social media following confirmation of the deal going through to share an image Leverkusen had used to announce his arrival, showing him shaking hands in the process of signing his contract.
