Daniel Mullen celebrates hitting the winner in Derry City's victory over St Patrick's Athletic
Derry City’s Daniel Mullen hopes his winning strike against St Patrick’s Athletic will give boss Ruaidhrí Higgins a selection headache ahead of Monday night’s encounter at Champions Shamrock Rovers.
The frontman, who celebrated his 29th birthday on Friday, netted the stoppage-time winner against the Saints and believes the come-from-behind victory will give City confidence for their encounter at Tallaght Stadium.

“I felt Paul (McMullan), who also came on tonight (Friday), he especially did well as well, and it’s a good squad that will only get better, but we’re looking strong.
“Pat (Hoban) is playing well and he’s scoring, but I’ll be ready when called upon. If Pat’s not scoring and I come on, then hopefully, I can score and help in that way, but we’ll be looking for everyone to chip in all over the pitch as well.
“There’s real character in the dressing room, and as I said, we’ll never give up, which we showed against St Pat’s.”
