Former Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann believes Jurgen Klopp's side have re-found their spark - and that Manchester City is a bigger game for his old club than Manchester United nowadays.
Their 3-0 win over Brentford on Sunday saw Liverpool swagger into the international break and leapfrog Arsenal into second place in the Premier League standings.
Following their changes in the summer that saw the likes of Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister enter the fray as part of a midfield restructuring, the Reds have looked like a different entity to the team that staggered over the line in May.

Fast-forward six months and Liverpool now find themselves in a title battle with defending champions Manchester City, who lead their long-time rivals by a point at the top. City will be aiming to extend that advantage when the two sides meet at the Etihad in the biggest game of the season so far on Saturday, November 25.
But the massive match also gives the Reds the chance to hit the summit and Hamann, who won the Champions League with the club during his playing days, says the spark is back
"The fixture is arguably the biggest game in the Premier League as it's between the two most successful sides of the last few seasons," he said speaking to BoyleSports, who offer the latest Premier League odds.
