A former Manchester United cult-hero rolled back the years with a stunning bicycle-kick.
The 37-year-old joined a club in Argentina last summer after ending his one-year stay with LaLiga side Valencia.
He has been a regular starter for Boca Juniors this calendar year with four goals in eight appearances in the domestic league.
And Edinson Cavani helped guide Boca to the next round of Copa Argentina on Saturday with a brace in 2-0 win over Central Norte.
The Uruguayan striker's second goal of the night came in extraordinary fashion with a bicycle kick reminiscent of his days at PSG.
'The arch doesn't open. The strikers make it open up when we keep working, and the only recipe is to work,' Cavani said after the win.
'It's a lie that the goal opens, it's like people waiting for things to fall from the sky.'
Fans took to social media to heap praise on Cavani, with one claiming 'class is permanent'.
Another mirrored those views, saying: 'This man is a striker for ages,' with a third fan adding 'Absolutely beautiful to watch'.
Last July, Cavani brought an end to a glittering career in Europe dating back to his arrival in Serie A with Palermo in 2007.
Uruguay's second highest goalscorer racked up team and personal accolades in Italy and France with Napoli and PSG, before signing with Manchester United in 2020.
At Old Trafford, Cavani bagged 19 goals in 59 appearances before making a move to Spain last summer.
