England will take on Scotland in a special anniversary friendly match on Tuesday evening in what will be the rivals' 116th meeting.
The near-neighbours last clashed 2021 and they will now meet to celebrate 150 years of their rivalry in Glasgow.
The rivals played their first-ever match against each other in 1872 and have since faced one another over 100 times.
So ahead of this special renewal of the rivalry, talkSPORT.com takes a look at the head-to-head record between the two…
England and Scotland have faced each other a total of 115 times in all competitions.
The Three Lions have won 48 of those games while the Tartan Army have won slightly less, coming out on top in 41.
There have also been 26 draws between the two with the most recent coming at Euro 2020.
In fact, that 0-0 draw at Wembley during the Euro 2020 group stage was the last time England played against Scotland.
The fixture has been a rarity in recent years but that wasn’t always the case with an annual meeting taking place from 1884 all the way to 1989.
Scotland were the more dominant side back then, winning a large amount of matches between the two before England began to take over.
Unfortunately, those annual clashes came to an end 33 years ago and since then the teams have only met eight times.
And there have only been five clashes over the last ten years.
England are unbeaten in those games but Scotland have managed to earn a draw in the most recent meetings between the two.
Total meetings: 115
England wins: 48 — 41.7% win percentage
Scotland wins: 41 — 35.7% win percentage
Draws: 26
The 150th-anniversary match is scheduled to kick off at 7:45pm on Tuesday, September 12.
It will be played at Hampden Park in Glasgow.
