Erling Haaland's wait for his major international tournament debut goes on with Norway officially out of Euro 2024.
He may be one of the best, if not the best, strikers in football, but he is yet to get a chance to rip it up on the world stage.
The 23-year-old has already won nearly everything in club football having lifted a historic treble with Man City last season.
However, Norway crashed out of qualifying for next summer's European Championship before even playing this weekend.
They face Scotland at Hampden Park on Sunday, but for them there is nothing at stake now.
Israel's 2-1 defeat to Romania mean that Norway no longer have any way of reaching the tournament.
Romania went top of Group I with their win, ahead of Switzerland.
Norway could only have reached the play-offs for Euro 2024 — with qualification decided by Nations League results — if Israel had automatically qualified.
Teammate and Arsenal star Martin Odegaard will now join him in having to watch next summer's tournament on their TV screens.
To make matters worse, Haaland suffered an injury that will keep him out of the Scotland game.
Haaland said: «Unfortunately, I am missing tomorrow’s game against Scotland.
»Wishing the boys all the best. Now treatment and trying to get back asap."
Norway boss Stale Solbakken added: «It's the movement in his foot that is the problem but it's not a serious injury.
»Had it been a final, I don't know (if he would have been fit to play).
«All parties agree it is probably a little too early (for him to play) but it is not a career-threatening injury.»
Journalist Fabrizio Romano reported that Haaland is expected to be fit for Man City's next Premier League clash, which is against Liverpool.
That match will be live on talkSPORT next Saturday
