Everton are to today discover whether they have been charged for a second time under the Premier League's profit and sustainability rules.
The Blues were hit with a ten-point deduction back in November, which has left Sean Dyche's side battling to avoid relegation for the third season in succession, and could be hit with further bad news on Monday.
Everton and other Premier League clubs were required to submit their accounts for the 2022/23 season by the end of December, with clubs told to wait a fortnight to hear whether or not they have breached its guidelines.
A report by The Athletic last night suggested both the Blues and Nottingham Forest are in line to have fallen foul of the regulations, which is likely to either result in a fine or possible points deduction. In Everton's case, this would be added on top of the ten points the club have already been docked.

Everton have already appealed their landmark ten-point penalty and would be within their rights to do the same if hit with a second punishment by the Premier League. The deadline for this appeal is May 24, which comes five days after the end of the current top-flight campaign. As a result, clubs are likely to end the season unaware of their true final position and which division they may be competing in the following year.
