Young Everton goalkeeper Harry Tyrer is determined to follow Jordan Pickford’s example and go from non-League to Premier League after winning promotion on loan at Chesterfield.
The 22-year-old from Crosby helped the Spirerites clinch the National League title with five games to spare last Saturday when they defeated Boreham Wood 3-0, their 30th victory in 41 matches. Tyrer, who spent last season on loan at National League North side Chester, has stepped up a division this term to play in all but two of Chesterfield’s league games as they cantered to the title.

Tyler told the ECHO: “Alan Kelly (the Everton goalkeeper coach) has been very influential in Jord’s career as well. He’s been great for me and told me if you’re out on loan playing games, you’ll have a great career and learn quickly on the job like if you were an apprentice trying to master a trade.
